BLACK HAWK COUNTY – Tickets are now on sale for one of the Cedar Valley’s sweetest traditions! The 40th Annual Maple Syrup Festival will once again take place at Hartman Reserve Nature Center in Cedar Falls, and reservations are filling quickly.
The Black Hawk County Conservation event takes place March 6–8 and features an all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast topped with pure maple syrup produced from sugar maple trees right at Hartman Reserve. The meal also includes sausage, Sidecar Coffee, and fresh dairy products from Hansen’s Dairy.
The Maple Syrup Festival is a reservations-only fundraiser designed to provide a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all guests. Tickets must be reserved in advance; paper tickets will not be sold, and walk-ins cannot be accommodated.
Ticket prices:
- Adults: $10
- Youth (ages 3–15): $5
- Children (2 and under): Free
Event details, available time slots, and reservation instructions can be found at www.BlackHawkCountyParks.com under the Events menu. Seating is limited and tied to reservation times. Because this is a fundraiser, refunds are not available.
Beyond breakfast, guests can:
- Watch Sugar Shack demonstrations, where conservation staff explain how sap is collected and transformed into maple syrup
- Enter the festival raffle for a chance to win a variety of prizes (winner need not be present)
The Maple Syrup Festival is made possible through generous community support. Proceeds help fund environmental education, recreation opportunities, and natural resource management across Black Hawk County parks. For more information, call 319-277-2187. We hope you’ll join us in celebrating 40 years of this sweet springtime tradition.
