The Black Hawk County Board of Supervisors allocates funding to organizations that provide services to advance public purposes for county residents. The application period for FY 26 (July 1, 2025 - June 30, 2026) is NOW OPEN. Applications are due by August 14, 2025. The application is linked above.
A total of $100,000 has been allocated to support programs and services that benefit residents of Black Hawk County. Eligible applicants include service providers whose projects advance one or more public purposes identified by the Board, including:
- Quality of Life – such as environmental protection, energy efficiency, and equal opportunity
- Workforce Support – including job training, childcare, and special needs assistance
- Shelter – including housing stability, shelter, and utility support
- Basic Necessities – such as access to nutrition, healthcare, and financial management
- Safety – including services to prevent or respond to domestic violence, assault, or other crises
- Economic Growth – support for business climate and economic vitality
Preference will be given to organizations located in, or with a presence in, Black Hawk County. Capital expenditures, such as building renovations, vehicle purchases, or equipment upgrades are not eligible for funding.
