- July: Beginning of fiscal year
- August: New fiscal year property taxes are certified
- Property tax and special assessment statements mailed
- September: First half property tax and special assessments due September 1, delinquent after September 30. However, if the last day of September is a Saturday or Sunday, the amount due becomes delinquent the 2nd business day of October (445.37; 435.24; 384.65).
- October: First half property tax and special assessments delinquent as of October 1. Interest accrues at the rate of 1.5% per month, rounded to nearest dollar (445.39; 435.24; 384.65).
- November: Delinquent letters mailed to property owners for which the previous September and prior taxes are unpaid (445.36).
- “For properties with an outstanding tax sale lien, Iowa law provides that taxes for a subsequent year may be paid by the purchaser at tax sale beginning 1 month and 14 days following the date from which an installment becomes delinquent (446.32)."

- January: Senior Citizen/Disabled property tax credit forms become available. Qualified individuals may apply between January 1 and June 1 with the County Treasurer (435.22; 425.20).

- March: Second half property tax due March 1, delinquent after March 31. However, if the last day of March is a Saturday or Sunday, the amount due becomes delinquent the 2nd business day of April (445.37; 435.24; 384.65).
- April: Second half property tax delinquent as of April 1. Interest accrues at the rate of 1.5% per month, rounded to nearest dollar (445.39; 435.24; 384.65).
- Delinquent tax statements and notice of tax sale mailed to property owners (435.25; 446.9).
